We visited Canada in 2005.
My wife has cousins in Vancouver, so we stayed with them for a few days before setting off into the wilderness. Canada is a colossal place, and we drove some 1500 miles while we were there. But when we looked at a large-scale map, we saw we had barely seen ANY of it! Apparently, there are more trees there than in the Amazon rain-forest, but logging seems to be one of the larger industries... and yet 'nobody' (ie, people who have never left their own country) complains!
Also, I had NO idea they made wine in Canada!? Amazingly, it's really rather good - but just don't ask for a second glass of said wine in a restaurant, or you'll get the "Oh, my God, they're alcoholics" treatment!
A big place, with big skies, and a lot of mushroom-coloured buildings.
